TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The assistant deputy of Communication at the Vice President’s Secretariate, Rusmin Nuryadin, said that Vice President Ma’ruf Amin underwent coronavirus (COVID-19) medical health test on Saturday, March 14, and announced that the VP’s test result came back negative.

“The result came back negative,” said Rusmin Nuryadin in a written statement on Monday, March 16.

Furthermore, Rusmin said in the letter that VP Ma’ruf Amin will continue to conduct activities as usual from the VP’s headquarters in Central Jakarta’s North Medan Merdeka.

“This morning, the vice president is scheduled to hold an intern meeting with the president via video conference,” said Rusmin. Meanwhile, the VP is scheduled to conduct a Skype interview with online news media.

According to Rusmin, this adheres to President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s instructions for state-officials to maintain social distancing and make use of video conference calls to conduct certain meetings.

This also means that the schedules Ma’ruf Amin is set to undergo will be changed accordingly amid the COVID-19 national mitigation plan.
