People Under Coronavirus Observation in Jakarta Increases

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta’s official COVID-19 response team announced that the number of people under observation related to the coronavirus outbreak has increased as Thursday, March 5 saw two more people observed as coronavirus suspects. This effectively adds the total number to 34.

Head of Jakarta’s health resources Ani Ruspitawati said observed patients are treated at appointed hospitals.

“The other 49 people under observation have been permitted to return home as they are deemed healthy and tested negative for COVID-19,” said Ani at Jakarta’s City Hall on Friday, March 6.

The COVID-19 response team is also monitoring 127 people who potentially are exposed to the coronavirus while 140 have been cleared. The city’s coronavirus response hotline, 119, that was made available since January 29, received 2,774 callers up to Thursday, March 5.
