TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Metro Jaya Police is set to redirect traffic at the Indian Embassy in Jakarta on Friday, March 6, after the 212 Group or Persaudaraan Alumni 212 announced it will hold a rally there in protest of what the group’s spokesman claim to be “acts of violence against Muslims in India.”

“The traffic redirection will be situational,” said the Metro Jaya Police’s traffic law enforcer, Adj. Grand Commissioner Fahri Siregar on Friday, March 6.

Moreover, the 212 group’s spokesman, Novel Bamukmin, said the group will mainly push the Indian government to revoke its Citizen Amendment Bill that they believe has helped drive the country’s radical Hindu groups to persecute Muslims in India.

The 212 Group demands the Indian government to arrest the suspects of the violent persecutions. They also push the Indonesian government to take political action against the human rights violations happening there.

The situational traffic redirection in the vicinity of the Indian Embassy in Jakarta will affect Jl. Gatot Subroto, HR. Rasuna Said, Pancoran, and Mampang Prapatan.
