Jakarta Flood Recedes; Transjakarta Operates Normally

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The operational service of Jakarta transportation company Transjakarta has returned to normal since Tuesday night at 19:30 after the flooding in several areas in the city starting to recede. The company official Nadia Diposanjoyo said 13 lines of the city bus service is now able to serve its passengers.

"Several routes previously affected by the floods are now able to operate normally and there's also several route modification," she stated in a press release on February 25.

According to Nadia, the routes to Jakarta border areas have also returned to normal. People aiming to head home to satellite cities can now use Transjakarta buses. She reminded the public to remain alert considering the rainy weather these days.

The Transjakarta routes affected by the floods in Jakarta and surrounding areas were line 2; Pulogadung-Harmoni via line 4 and line 5, and line 3; Kalideres-Pasar Baru via Tomang toll.

The Jakarta transportation company also shortened several routes at line 5; Kampung Melayu-Ancol which served passengers only until Pal Putih, line 8; Lebak Bulus-Harmoni that operated only until Ashidiqiyah, and line 9; Pinang Ranti-Pluit that only served the passengers until Grogol stop.
