Lion Air: Passenger from Wuhan Showed No Signs of Coronavirus

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Lion Air Spokesman Danang Mandala Prihantoro assured that the passenger who departed from Wuhan to Denpasar, Bali, on Wednesday, Jan 22, was not infected by the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as the passenger’s condition was thoroughly checked by the medical staff of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport upon arrival.
“The passenger did not show symptoms of the virus in question,” said Danang in a written statement on Wednesday, February 12.
Lion Air’s Boeing 737-900ER departed from Tianhe Wuhan International Airport at 17:05 local time and arrived at Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport at 22:55 Eastern Indonesia Time (WIT).
The passenger was not the only person who went under medical screening, the entire 188 passengers and 11 crew members were also checked for any symptoms of coronavirus infection. Other standard operating procedures such as disinfecting the airplane as it was parked at the airport’s apron.
Lion Air serves the Wuhan - Denpasar flight three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. However, following the coronavirus outbreak from Wuhan, China, round trips have been temporarily stopped from January 29 until further notice.
