TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta government has stated that the budget implementation of Formula E will be audited. The Regional Secretary of the Jakarta government, Saefullah, said that he would be transparent with the use of the budget that reached Rp 1.2 trillion for this event.

"Later there will be internal and external audits," Saefullah said at the City Hall of Jakarta, Tuesday, February 11, 2020. he said that internal audits will be conducted by the inspectorate, While externally conducted by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) or the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency.

He also said that the public also can participate in overseeing every budgeting made by the government. If there is any discrepancy or ineffectiveness in the budgeting process the public can report this.

"This is a transparent era, and the key to this event is audit. We will obey the results of the audit," he said.

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, said Saefullah, has re-elected the National Monument (Monas) area as the Formula E circuit. Previously, the Formula E circuit had wanted to be moved to the GBK area because it was not permitted by the Ministry of State Secretary to use Monas.

Finally, the Ministry of State Secretary allows the Jakarta government to use Monas with several notes. "Monas is our icon," Saefullah said at the Jakarta City Hall on Tuesday, February 11, 2020.

He explained Monas, as a monument that represents the country, must be highlighted in international-scale events. "This event will be loved by millennials and various ages," he said.

Through this Formula E event, the Jakarta government hopes it will invite both domestic and foreign tourists. "This event is aimed at attracting tourists," Saefullah concluded.
