TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil said the Bogor region would have two waste processing facilities that produce energy, or waste to energy facility.

Ridwan Kamil said the first garbage processing system will be the Lulut Nambo TPPAS in Bogor Regency, which is being built by PT Jabar Bersih Lestari.

The facility will process waste into RDF or coal substitute fuel to supply the cement factory.

TPPAS Nambo will serve Bogor City, Bogor Regency, Depok and South Tangerang. "Nambo is targeted to complete in [between] November-December this year. So at the end of this year, we will have the first waste to energy facility that converts waste into a substitute for coal or RDF," the governor said.

The second one, Ridwan said, is the facility that is able to process plastic waste into diesel for diesel engines. This facility will be built by Plastic Energy, a British company that has operated similar facilities in some European countries.

According to Ridwan Kamil, it will need nine months for the British company to build each facility. Plastic Energy has agreed to build a plastic waste processing facility in Galuga this year.

The two facilities will process different waste. The waste processing facility that will be built by Plastic Energy specifically processes plastic waste with a processing capacity of 600 tons of plastic per day. While organic waste will be processed at TPPAS Lulut Nambo.
