TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan claimed that the omnibus law on job creation will promote the welfare of domestic workers.

"Personally, I have no more problems [with the draft bill]. When I review and read it again, it will not beset the workers," Luhut said at the ministry's building, Jakarta, Wednesday, January 29.

Luhut revealed that compensation and incentives for workers, as well as the conditions to boost workers' welfare, would be stipulated in the bill, which was expected to open 3 million new jobs.

Therefore, Luhut suggested Indonesia maintain good relations with investors in a bid to realize the goals. "That is what we need to maintain together so that people will be attracted to come and invest that will result in job creation," the Coordinating Minister underlined.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Coordinating Ministry's Secretary Susiwijono said the omnibus law on job creation is targeted to complete in the next few days, waiting for the president's letter as an introduction of the draft bill. He promised that the academic draft and the draft bill will be published once it's complete.
