TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan directly checked the result on the revitalization effort on Puring Park in Kebayoran Baru, after attending the inauguration of a professor at Gadjah Mada University, in Yogyakarta, on Monday.

According to Anies, the park is now steadily attracting visitors due to its aesthetic appeal after being revitalized.

“Many people would come here, not only from around the Gandaria area but also from other areas (of Jakarta). I even met someone from Bangka, who came here specifically after hearing good reviews about Puring Park,” said Anies in Puring Park, on Monday, January 20, 2020.

Anies came to visit Puring Park to check the results of the Puring Park revitalization effort which has been carried out starting from October 2019. "Alhamdulillah (Praise to God), Puring Park has been completely renovated and now children and families, play in the afternoon a lot here," he said.

There are 50 parks in Jakarta that have undergone renovation in 2019, including Puring Park. Although Puring Park has not been officiated after its renovation, it is already crowded with visitors.

According to Anies, the placement of Puring Park, being located near to a market, is in accordance with the characteristics of the area. Anies went on to say that each park has different characteristics. Therefore, the design of the park is accordingly adjusted to the characteristics of the area.

“And this (the park’s ecosystem) will be well maintained, so that Puring Park can still absorb water, remain green and shady, where children can freely play,” said Anies.

In regards to the conception of parks in 2020, Anies stated that, the parks will be a pleasant recreational areas for families, with the design of each park being different from one another; in evidence, Puring Park is equipped with parkour facilities.

“Parks can't be the same, each parks are different. There is a uniqueness in every park, because every park provides a different park (design),” said Anies Baswedan.
