Jiwasraya Case; AGO Confiscates Luxury Cars, Harley Davidson

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Attorney General's Office has asked the National Defense Agency (BPN) to secure the asset confiscated from the suspect of the alleged corruption case of Jiwasraya, Benny Tjokrosaputro.
"We're asking for the blockage first because the procedure for confiscation is ruled in a different mechanism," Hari said at his office in South Jakarta, Thursday, January 16. The total asset seized by the investigators is 156 of lands.
He didn't elaborate regarding the form of the land. But Hari explained that 84 lands are located in Lebak, Banten, and 72 are in Tangerang.
The other assets seized by the investigators include bank accounts and vehicles. The vehicles are five luxury cars, namely Toyota Alphard registered under Hendrisman Rahim; Mercedes Benz registered under PT Hanson International; Toyota Alphard under Hary Prasetyo; Mercedes Benz owned by suspect Hary Prasetyo's wife; Mercedes Benz registered under PT Asuransi Jiwasraya; and one Harley Davidson bike under Hendrisman Rahim.
Attorney General ST Burhanuddin found that the potential of state loss due to this case reached Rp13.7 trillion.
The AGO named five suspects in the case. They are PT Hanson International Commissioner, Benny Tjokrosaputro; former Finance Director of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya Persero, Hary Prasetyo; President Commissioner of PT Trada Alam Minera Tbk, Heru Hidayat; former investment and finance head of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya, Syahmirwan; and former President Director of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya, Hendrisman Rahim.
The suspects have been detained in different penitentiaries for 20 days.
