TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Attorney General's Office has named five people as suspects in the PT Asuransi Jiwasraya corruption case on Tuesday, January 14, 2020.
They are PT Hanson International Commissioner, Benny Tjokrosaputro; former Finance Director of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya Persero, Hary Prasetyo; President Commissioner of PT Trada Alam Minera Tbk, Heru Hidayat; former investment and finance head of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya, Syahmirwan; and lastly, former President Director of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya, Hendrisman Rahim.
Wearing a pink vest, Benny, Hary, Heru one by one exited the Attorney General's office in South Jakarta from 17:00 to 17:50, local time, followed by Syahmirwan and Hendrisman. According to Tempo’s observation, Heru’s hands were bound by an instrument, similar to handcuffs.
Benny’s lawyer, Muchtar Arifin, confirms Benny’s status as a suspect of the case. “Nothing has been done to the Jiwasraya people who should be responsible, it should be the directors,” said Muchtar in the Attorney General's office, South Jakarta, on Tuesday, January 14, 2020.
Furthermore, Heru Hidayat’s lawyer, Susilo Ariwibowo, gave a statement after the investigation of his client that Heru is set to be detained for 20 days.
“Earlier, (my client) was examined as a witness, so there was no assistance from any law enforcement. I can’t tell what were the questions or how many questions were asked, I can’t answer that. But now his status has changed to become a suspect, and (he is) detained,” he said. Heru Hidayat, meanwhile, did not give any comments.
Up to the point of writing this news, the Attorney General's Office did not give any statement.
