TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A volunteer activist for President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo Kris Cantra, has announced that President Jokowi's supporters will hold a demonstration in front of the City Hall, Central Jakarta, on January 14, 2020. Kris stated that the demonstration will demand current Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, to step down from his position.

"Demand Anies to step down," said Kris when contacted by Tempo on Monday, January 13, 2020.

Kris further added that, the volunteer's demand for Anies to step down is a result of the recent Jakarta floods. Kris also mentioned about the state budget allocated to the flooding. However, he did not provide further detail on the specific matters that have become the main concern of the volunteers.

According to Kris, around 50 Jokowi supporter organizations, including 'Sahabat Indonesia Maju' (SIMA), will take to the streets. However, Kris did not specify the number of individual volunteers that will participate in the demonstration.

"50 organizations and counting," he said.
