KPU Commissioner Apprehended in KPK's Sting Operation

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) carried out a sting operation (OTT) on Wednesday, January 8, 2020. The anti-graft agency has reportedly apprehended a commissioner from the General Election Committee (KPU) in the operation.
“Yes, a central KPU commissioner,” confirmed KPK deputy chief Lili Pintauli Siregar.
According to a law enforcement source, the sting operation is done in regard to the change in members of the People’s Representative Council (DPR).
The deputy chief of the anti-graft agency, Nurul Ghufron, also said that a number of individuals have been apprehended in the sting operation, including a commissioner with the initials of WS.
A law enforcement source has stated that the initials pointed to Wahyu Setiawan.
Meanwhile, KPU Commissioner Ilham Saputra has refused to give any comments on the sting operation.
“Wait for KPK’s official statement,” answered Ilham when asked on whether or not the individual apprehended was Wahyu Setiawan.
