TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A member of the Bogor Legislative Council (DPRD), Atang Trisnanto, said he plans to pitch a new regional regulation draft (Raperda) overseeing the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community. He persists that the regulation will be able to suppress the spread of HIV/AIDS that he says is on the rise.

Atang claims the rising number of people with HIV/AIDS is due to a number of issues such as drug abuse. But he also said the growing number of sufferers are caused by the free-sex lifedata-style and same-gender intercourse.

“This regulation will prevent the spread of the disease and suppress LGBT activities that continue to torment parents and people in general,” said Atang in Bogor on Wednesday, November 27.

The PKS politician claims to have valid data of field findings linking the sexual orientation and the spread of the disease.

For example, he said, a teenager who experienced sexual violence in the past will affect the teen’s sexual orientation once they grow older.

“That is what we are trying to prevent and handle through the LGBT regional regulation,” said Atang.
