TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross said that Boeing representatives would come to Indonesia, concerning the Lion Air crash that involved its 737 MAX 8 aircraft.

Ross made the statement when visiting the office of Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, Wednesday, November 6.

"Boeing has shown its willingness to speak with Lion Air and said they are deeply sorry for the lives lost in the accident. Boeing will come here," Ross said, adding that Boeing is part of the US delegation visiting Indonesia with him.

Secretary Ross is in Jakarta as part of a series of visits to Southeast Asian countries, including Thailand and Vietnam. He brings along 25 CEOs of America's top companies such as Honeywell, Tesla, Qualcomm, and Citibank.

Yesterday, he also met with Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. The two state officials discussed investment and trade issues between the two countries.
