TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Air Transportation Directorate General ensured that the follow-up of the recommendation on the Lion Air JT 610 crash investigation result issued by the National Transportation Safety Commission (KNKT) would complete in three months.

“All recommendations will be followed-up in the next three months, until January 2020,” said Air Transportation Director-General Polana B. Pramesti during a press conference at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Friday, Nov. 1.

Polana said her side was implementing multiple measures to carry out the recommendation. “We're conducting internal corrections and the monitoring on Lion Air,” she explained.

She reiterated that the monitoring would be pointed out on the update and manual synchronization in the airline, the scope of training, and the SMS training period based on the personnel level. “As well as ensuring that the hazard report sent by personnel could be accessed directly by responsible officials,” Polana added.

Polana further said that her directorate would immediately enhance the monitoring of Lion Air’s SOP implementation by carrying out a surveillance program in the training area and operational activity in the airworthiness and flight operations.

Lion Air Safety and Security Director, Daniel Putut Kuncoro Adi, said the airliner appreciated the work of KNKT and received the three recommendations. “We as the operator abide by the designated regulations,” Daniel said.

Lion Air would also follow-up and focus on how the SOP was drafted and applied. “And also about safety management and the training. We will complete it in three months. This is for the sake of flight safety,” Daniel remarked.
