Wishnutama Designs Indonesia Night for 2020 Hannover Messe

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Wishnutama Subandio assured that Indonesia would participate in the world’s leading industrial technology and investment expo 2020 Hannover Messe next April. According to him, the fair would present a special stage for the country dubbed Indonesian Night.

“There will be Indonesia Night as the opening ceremony of 2020 Hannover Messe. Hopefully, this will make Indonesia proud,” said the minister at the Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs office, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, Oct. 30.

Indonesia is the first ASEAN country as the official partner country of 2020 Hannover Messe. The expo is held annually in Germany, exhibiting tenants about industries and the latest technology from various countries.

Indonesia’s preparation for the trade fair had been discussed by inter-ministries under the Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs. The meeting was led by the Coordinating Minister Airlangga Hartarto.

Apart from Wishnutama, attended the meeting were SOE Minister Erick Thohir, Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi, and Trade Minister Agus Suparmanto. The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) head Bahlil Lahadalia and Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang also presented.

Wishnutama explained that Airlangga had divided the tasks per ministry. As for Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry was ordered to hold a spectacular event, and so the ministry would survey the location soon. He also claimed to have studied previous Hannover Messe.
