TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Pertamina vice president corporate communications Fajriyah Usman said that the state-owned gas and oil company has opened a total of 161 one-price fuel stations per October 1, exceeding the target of 160 stations by the year’s end set by the government.

“We are able to accelerate the completion of the establishment of one-price fuel station in October, and all stations have been fully operational or under operational trial. This even exceeds the location target of 36 areas at 37 areas,” said Fajriyah in a written statement, Thursday, October 3.

The government previously ordered the state company to build 160 one-price fuel stations across the frontier, outermost, and least developed regions (3T) within 2017-2019. However, Pertamina successfully established 54 stations in 2017, 70 stations in 2018, and 37 stations in 2019.

The company has now operated 33 one-fuel policy stations in Papua, 17 in Maluku, 25 in Nusa Tenggara, 18 in Sulawesi, 35 in Kalimantan, 28 in Sumatra, and 5 in Java and Bali respectively.

According to Fajriyah, the one-price fuel policy lowers the fuel prices at retailers which initially ranging from Rp7,000 to Rp100,000 per liter to become Rp6,450 for Premium and Rp5,150 for Solar-branded fuel.

The program also helps to drive the economy in 3T regions, lower the price of commodity goods, especially local ones, and reduce transportation costs, he added.
