TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has again called in former badminton athlete Taufik Hidayat for the graft case regarding the disbursement of Koni's grant funds through the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) in the 2018 fiscal year.

“He [Taufik] is scheduled for questioning for the suspect MIU,” said the anti-graft body spokesman Febri Diansyah in Jakarta, Wednesday, September 25. MIU in mention is Miftahul Ulum, a personal assistant of former Youth and Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi.

On August 1, the agency had summoned the badminton star in the investigation into the case development in the ministry. Taufik claimed to have been grilled about his duties when serving as the ministry’s special staff and deputy chair of the Indonesia Gold Program Executive Unit (Satlak Prima).

Other than Taufik, the anti-graft body summoned two other witnesses today for Miftahul, namely civil servant in the ministry Edward Taufan Panjaitan and Regional-owned Enterprises (BUMD) officer Tommy Suhartanto.

Previously on Wednesday, September 18, KPK announced Miftahul Ulum and Imam Nahrawi as the corruption suspect in the National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI) case. KPK suspected that Imam through his assistant had received a total of Rp26.5 billion.
