TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The House of Representatives’ (DPR) consultative body or Bamus on Monday, September 23, agreed to meet the invitation from President Joko Widodo or Jokowi to a consultation session today afternoon.

“The majority of the DPR factions agree to attend a consultation session with the President today afternoon,” said United Development Party (PPP) faction head Arsul Sani after a Bamus meeting at the Parliament complex, Jakarta, Monday, September 23.

Arsul explained the Bamus meeting had canvassed three plenary meetings that were slated to take place by the end of the DPR period of 2014-2018 in September, and that all draft bills were planned to be passed into law.

However, he added, actions relative to the draft revisions of the Criminal Code Law (RKUHP) would be decided after the meeting with the President.

“It is not wise for us to expose it [the fate of the RKUHP] to the media while we have not discussed it with the President,” Arsul said.

According to him, the House’s consultative body and President Jokowi would talk of the RKUHP, whose discussions have been afoot for the last four years, and public aspirations on it that have been conveyed to the DPR and the President.
