TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - There is something notably different on the official website of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Friday, September 13. Its homepage now features an entirely black image with a message that reads; “We continue to work, we will continue the fight. #SaveKPK.”

Head of the KPK publication and reporting Yuyuk Andriati says that the new visual reference is to convey a message that the anti-graft agency will continue to work under any circumstance.

“All of us will continue to work to eradicate corruption. We will never move from the initial spirit that the KPK was built upon, which is to realize Indonesia that is free of corruption,” said Yuyuk on Friday, September 13.

Yuyuk acknowledges the numerous and constant attacks aimed at that serves either to control or weaken the agency. KPK’s string of attacks arguably includes the recent naming of its new leader by the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission III, Firli Bahuri.

Another – and rather blatant – attempt to curb the authority of the KPK is the revision on the anti-graft agency’s law.
