TEMPO.CO, Bogor - A total of 57,580 residents of the 18,571 households in Bogor are suffering from clean water crisis due to the year’s prolonged drought.

The head of the Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) of Bogor regency, Yani Hassan, said 31 villages of 17 districts in the regency were hit by drought.

“Clean water crisis in the year’s dry season has affected 57,580 residents of the 18,571 households in 100 villages in Bogor regency,” Yani said.

Yani added it was predicted that drought in the regency, which has beset 31 villages in 17 districts of the regency’s 40 districts, would spread to other areas, causing more people to suffer from clean water crisis.

“Based on the data from the West Java BPBD, it is predicted that more areas will be affected by drought and clean water crisis as the peak of the dry season this year will last till October 2019,” Yani said.
