TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A Jakarta resident Fajrie Anshari finally decided to apply for the zero percent down payment program after his attempts to apply for KPR (home ownership credit) receive rejections from the bank.

Fajrie stated that his credit applications were rejected because of administration requirements. "Because if you apply for KPR [you] must be a permanent employee, meanwhile I am just an outsourcing [contract] employee," Fajrie said on Saturday, August 10, 2019.

Fajrie is currently is currently working as a driver at Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) in Bekasi. His monthly salary is in the range of IDR 4 to 6 million. Fajri expressed his confidence that he will has the financial capability to pay for installments of the zero percent down payment house, which is estimated to be in the range of IDR 1.5 to 2 million.

The 34-years old employee hoped to change his fate from having to rent houses for the past three years. Fajrie is now living in a rented house in Pondok Bambu, East Jakarta. That is the main reason why he applied for the zero percent down payment house program at Klapa Village.

"I have had enough of renting [houses]," Fajrie said. "If it is possible I want to buy [a house] with two bedrooms," he added.

The Jakarta government opened the second term of application for IDR 0 down payment house program up until August 13, 2019. The registration spot for the program is located at the Klapa Village flat. One of the requirements to be eligible for the program is that the salary of the husband and wife of the family must range between IDR 4 to 7 million.

The next phase of registration will be opened at the Jakarta Public Housing and Residential Area Agency in Tanah Abang on August 14, 2019. The registration form can be downloaded at the samawa.jakarta.go.id website.

The registration is intended to record the number of Jakarta residents that needs a house. This means that the applicants will not be guaranteed a house out of the 790 flats at Klapa Village.
