TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has again named two new suspects in the bribery case of Meikarta project permit in Bekasi, West Java.

“The two suspects are West Java Regional Secretary IWK (Iwa Karniwa) and former president director of Lippo Cikarang BTO (Bartholomeus Toto)," said the commission deputy head Saut Situmorang in his office, South Jakarta, Monday, July 29.

The anti-graft body suspected Bartholomeus bribed Bekasi Regent Neneng Hasanah Yasin, who had been named suspect earlier, Rp10.5 billion for the permit issuance of the satellite city project. Saut explained Bartholomeus delivered the bribe money in five stages in the form of dollar and rupiah.

Meanwhile, Iwa Karniwa was suspected to receive Rp900 million from a suspect Neneng Rahmi Nurlaili.

Iwa Karniwa said today, July 30, in a written statement that he would trust the legal proceedings of Meikarta graft case that entangled him.

Previously, KPK has named nine suspects in Meikarta graft case: Lippo Group operational director Billy Sindoro, consultants Taryudi and Fitra Djaja Purnama, and an employee Henry Jasmen.

Other suspects include Neneng Hasanah Yasin and other Bekasi officials namely the Head of Bekasi Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Agency, Jamaludin; the Head of Bekasi Fire Department, Sahat MBJ Nahar; the Head of Bekasi Capital Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP), Dewi Tisnawati; and the Head of PUPR’s Spatial Planning, Neneng Rahmi.
