TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan asserted he would not give up halting the development of the capital's reclamation project. The governor made his statement in response to the Jakarta State Administrative Court's (PTUN) verdict that accepted the appeal filed by PT Taman Harapan Indah on the reclamation permit of H Islet.

“We will not retreat. We will prepare a legal step,” said Anies in Cilincing, North Jakarta, Monday, July 29.

He asserted that his administration would fight against developers who were willing to resume the reclamation project. However, he honored the court’s ruling and the legal ways taken by the developer.

Jakarta Legal Agency head Yayan Yuhanah said on Monday, July 29, that the city administration had requested an appeal.

He was upbeat the city would win the appeal considering the Gubernatorial Decree No. 1409/2018 concerning the permit revocation of reclamation island was issued based on procedures.

Previously, the panel of judges annulled Anies Baswedan’s Gubernatorial Decree No. 1409/2018 regarding the revocation of Gubernatorial Decree No. 2637/2015 on the permit of reclamation project of H Islet for PT Taman Harapan Indah.
