TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The future of the 2018-2019 Indonesia Cup (Piala Indonesia) finals is said to be determined today in the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) disciplinary committee meeting after it was canceled on Sunday due to several issues.

The main reason is that Persija players collectively refused to participate in the final match due to security concerns following an attack prompted by the host city’s supporter. One day prior, one Persija staff and two players were injured because the rock was thrown into the bus they were riding on.

PSSI secretary-general deputy Marshal Masita said the chances of the final match between PSM Makassar and Jakarta’s Persija being held at its original location in Andi Mattalatta Stadium is still open.

The meeting itself will discuss an incident that injured Persija officials after a rock was thrown into one of the buses that transported the team’s footballers and officials. The attack allegedly came from the crowd of PSM supporters who were waiting for the Persija’s entourage to pass.

“There will be a meeting which will be done swiftly to make a verdict following the incident where one of the Persija buses were thrown by a rock on Saturday. The meeting will also discuss the match’s Sunday cancellation,” said Marshal in Makassar on Sunday night.
