TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Transportation Agency head Syafrin Lupito said his staffers had proposed five routes to the International Automobile Federation (FIA) for the Formula E race that would be held in Jakarta in 2020. Out of the five routes, the organizer had selected two.
“We have suggested five routes, and the organizer has chosen two,” Syafrin told Tempo, Monday, July 15.
The first route for the E-Prix will start in the southeast junction of Monas - Jalan MI Ridwan Rais - going around Tugu Tani - Jalan MI Ridwan Rais - Merdeka Selatan - Wisma Antara - passing the U.S. Embassy office - Monas.
While the second route will be from south junction of Monas - passing the back street of Gambir or the entrance gate of the southeast junction of Monas - Jalan MI Ridwan Rais - Merdeka Selatan - going around the water fountain near Arjuna Horse Statue - Monas.
Syafrin explained the FIA had opted for the two routes after conducting a field inspection on July 8-9. Presently, the city administration is awaiting the final decision regarding the routes.
“[After the routes are set], we will begin the preparations so the infrastructure and facilities will meet the organizer’s standards,” he said.
