TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Police announced that suspect “SM” will be detained for committing blasphemy even though she has been declared mentally unfit and suffers from a mental disorder.

SM is the initials of the woman in a viral video that spread across social platforms. The video recording shows her having an argument with another individual inside a mosque in Bogor accompanied by her dog on Sunday.

“There are no special treatments, but she will still receive her rights as a suspect [for her illness]. If she must be treated then she will receive treatment,” said Grand Commissioner Iksantyo Bagus Pramono at the Kramatjati Police hospital (RS Polri).

According to Bagus, SM will be detained in a correctional facility at Bogor, “Don’t let there be presumptions of her not being detained.”

Moreover, Bogor Police Chief Adj. Comm. Andy M. Dicky said that SM will receive treatment if needed and that she would serve her time at the institution where she is treated. One recommendation suggested the Marzuki Mahdi Hospital in Bogor.
