TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former Jakarta deputy governor Sandiaga Uno talked about reports that he would be appointed as a minister in Joko Widodo's 2019-2024 cabinet. Sandiaga, who ran for vice president opposed Jokowi, said he is not interested.

"No, what for? If I seek to rule, then I'd prefer becoming deputy governor again. It's not about power, it's about how we live in a democracy," he said in an interview with Tempo Magazine.

Rumors circulated that Sandiaga would be the next SOE Minister or head of Bappenas. In previous occasion, Sandiaga said he did not want to speculate.

The KPU has officially named Joko Widodo-Ma'ruf Amin as president and vice president elect for 2019-2024, following the dispute tried at the Constitutional Court.

Sandiaga claimed that he predicted the loss, but he still convinced his running mate Prabowo Subianto to take their case to the MK.

"We knew from the start that we are facing the incumbent. But we want improvements. Hopefully with the result, the nation can learn," he said.
