Indonesia, South Korea Team Up on Water Management

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia through Perum Jasa Tirta II (PJT II) formed a collaboration with Korea Water Resources Cooperation (K-Water) to develop smart water management and information technology development in Indonesia.

The corporate president director U. Saefudin Noer and K-Water CEO Lee Hak-soo signed the agreement in the office of South Korean Ministry of Environment on Thursday, June 27.

Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono and Water Resources Director-General Hari Suprayogi presented at the signing.

Saefudin explained the partnership include the implementation, planning, and application study on the utilization of water resources, as well as the smart water management and information communication technology.

“This collaboration is one of PJT II’s transformations plans to be the country’s best water resource operator,” he said in a written statement, Friday, June 28.

According to Saefudin, Jasa Tirta II and K-Water would share skills and technologies, develop competency, and expand capacity to support corporate innovation of Jasa Tirta II. He expected the collaboration would enhance his corporate contribution in managing Indonesian water resources for the public.
