Gojek Expands Business to Tourism Sector

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Online app service company Gojek expands its business to the tourism sector.

In collaboration with the Jakarta administration, Go-Jek introduces a new feature dubbed Enjoy Jakarta where the public can access the schedule of festivals and events in the capital city through Gotix page in the app.

"In the Gotix page, users can find information about events in Jakarta, museum, and what's happening in the city," said Vice President Corporate Affairs Go-Jek Michael Say at Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta, Saturday, June 22.

Michael said the collaboration with the Jakarta government is aimed at supporting the capital's tourism trend as well as improving the digitation system of Jakarta as a smart city. Enjoy Jakarta is now accessible for the public.

Besides join hands in the tourism sector, Go-Jek also plans to help Jakarta administration produces 200,000 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The firm is currently proposing to collaborate with Jakarta's National Craft Council (Dekranasda).

Michael said Go-Jek has a special program called GoWirausaha, a platform where new businesses can join business training. Through GoWirausaha, the Dekranasda members will be taught to develop a business digitally and survive in the Industry 4.0 era.

Jakarta Dekranasda chairperson Fery Farhati Ganis appreciated Gojek's efforts in developing tourism and MSMEs business models. "We realize that what they are doing will have effects in the environment," she said.
