TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A total of 27 fire trucks were mobilized to extinguish the blaze in a fireworks factory at the Asemka Morning Market, West Jakarta, on Friday morning, June 21, 2019.

"We have dispatched 27 fire trucks to put out the fire burning this fireworks factory," said West Jakarta Firefighter Agency head Rompis Romlih on Friday, June 21, 2019.

Romlih explained that officers received the report at 10:50 AM local time and immediately went to the location.

The fire suppression process is predicted to take a long time considering the factory loaded with easy-burn materials. "The process will take a long time, it's been around an hour, and will take another two to three hours, not including the cooling down process,” Romlih added.

During the process, officers faced difficulties such as the thick smoke caused by the fire. "We are facing hard times because this is a fireworks factory, all materials are easy to burn and produce smoke."

There is no report on the casualty due to the fire incident in Asemka Morning Market. "No victim as of now, hopefully, there is none," Romlih concluded.
