TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Police Investigation Team led by General Supervision Inspector (Irwasum) Comr. Gen. Moechgiyarto has managed to locate the crime scene of the five dead victims of the May 22 riot.

"We have located the locations of the death of five out of nine victims. All of them located in Petamburan," said police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Asep Adi Saputra in the National Police Headquarter on Monday, June 17, 2019.

According to Asep, the five victims died after being shot with lethal ammunition. The police, he added, are still examining the projectiles and reconstructing the crime scenes to find the exact point where the victims fell and possible directions of the gunshot.

The police suspected the five victims were rioters because their locations were not around the office of the Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) where the rally-turned-riot took place. They were found in Petamburan area that strongly suspected of being the location of the riot scenario.

However, police would collect statements from the victims' relatives to confirm the information.

The examination into two projectiles found in the body of a dead victim and a survived victim named Zulkifli was still on process.

"Zulkifli got shot in his thigh, he can be saved and is now undergoing treatment. He is one victim among others whom we can took out the bullet projectiles," Asep added.
