Two Dead, Five Missing After MV Nusa Kenari Sinks in Alor, NTT

TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Alor Police in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT ) province said two passengers died and five others were missing after MV Nusa Kenari 02 ship sank. The ill-fated boat's skipper, Piterson Plaituka (30) and three crew members survived and were currently being grilled by police, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Patar Silalahi, Alor Police chief, said. "We are still questioning the four crew members to find out the cause of MV Nusa Kendari 02 sinking on Saturday at 5 a.m. local time," Silalahi said on Sunday.

The boat carried cargoes and 52 people aboard. Following the accident , 45 people were rescued, four slightly injured, two dead and five others comprising two adults and three children missing.
