“Give the police time to solve the case related to the assassination plans,” said Jokowi in a press release from the presidential press secretariat on Friday, June 14.
The president’s statement referred to the failed assassination plot targeting a number of national figures and an executive director of a pollster. To date, the police are still looking into the case for futher developments.

Moreover, Jokowi said the Indonesian national police (Polri) were also trying to investigate the actual death toll in the riots.
The president hinted at the possibility of the police working in conjunction with the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) in the future.
“Not just the police institution but [the investigation] might also involve the Komnas HAM and others,” said the president.
