TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The elites of National Mandate Party (PAN) shared different views on the future of their coalition with the presidential candidate pair Prabowo Subianto - Sandiaga Uno. Some were ready to change supports to the government, while some others preferred to stay backing Prabowo.

The party's vice chairman of the honorary board, Drajad Wibowo, stood in the second group. He assured a coalition of the presidential election could not be easily dissolved but required discussion with all parties joined in the coalition, either the political or non-political party.

“The coalition is not a decision made by 1 or 2 persons. It’s a joint decision. So whether the Prabowo - Sandiaga coalition will go on or not, it’s ethical to be discussed by all the involved parties. Of course, the discussion will be with Prabowo and Sandi as the coalition head,” said Drajad when contacted on Sunday, June 9.

This consideration, he added, must involve main figures of the coalition, namely Amien Rais from PAN, Salim Segaf Al-Jufir from PKS, and Titiek Soeharto from Berkarya. Even they would not decide by their own selves, but involving non-party figures such as Rizieq Shihab and Islamic scholars or ulema.

Drajad mentioned that the decision to form a coalition went through a long process and many factors behind it, such as a personal relationship and common vision. “So it won’t break up offhand, let alone based on tweets,” he said.

Earlier, PAN deputy chairman Bara Hasibuan underlined that his party had no longer tied with Adil Makmur coalition endorsing Prabowo-Sandiaga. According to him, the coalition has ended after the Election Commission (KPU) announced the final tally on May 22 that favored incumbent Jokowi - Ma'ruf.

Right after the trial against the election result started in the Constitutional Court (MK) this week, PAN would decide its next political move.

Meanwhile, Democratic Party deputy sec-gen Rachland Nashidik suggested both campaign teams competing in the 2019 presidential election dissolve their coalition as it was no longer relevant pending on the dispute process in MK, and that the election has ended.
