TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police’s Traffic Corps chief Insp. Gen. Refdi Andri said the one-way traffic would be applied today on the Trans Java toll road beginning from kilometer 70 Cikampek Utama Jawa Barat to kilometer 414 Kali Kangkung Semarang. This step was taken as many would-be travelers had yet to embark on their Eid homecoming trips yet.
“Because many vehicles have yet to leave Jakarta, it was predicted there were some 90,000 vehicles, so the one-way system would still be applied tomorrow on Monday since 06:00 a.m.,” he said in a release dated Sunday, June 2, 2019.
The one-way system would take effect from 06:00 a.m. to 09:00 p.m. and was subject to extension based on field conditions.
Refdi said the number of vehicles that had yet to enter the Kali Kangkung Toll Gate reached 30 percent of the predicted 90,000 vehicles during the Eid holidays.
The one-way system was aimed at coping with the rocketing number of vehicles during the Eid homecoming and return exodus.
