Bogor Terrorist to Explode Bombs at KPU on May 22, Police Say

TEMPO.CO, Bogor - National Police Headquarters said that terrorist suspect, that was arrested on Friday, May 17, in Bogor District planned to explode bombs in front of the General Election Commission (KPU) office building on May 22.
"There are two targets; first is the thogut and the second is [it is set] on May 22 in front of KPU building," said the police's public information chief Brig. Gen. Dedi Prasetyo in the terrorist suspect residence, E alias AR (51), in Cibinong, Bogor, Saturday, May 22.
Dedi said that terrorists use the momentum of the information on mass mobilization to Jakarta on May 22 to show their existence. "The momentum is utilized by terrorist groups to tell [the public] that they still exist," he said.
Based on the search at the terrorist residence in Bogor, the police confiscated six ready-to-use explosive pipes and a pressure cooker bomb that was in the making. According to Dedi, the explosion of the seven bombs will be executed on May 22.
The police plan to explode the bombs that are ready to explode in an empty field at Pakansari Stadium in Cibinong, Bogor District.
