TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Legislative candidate from the Indonesia Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Dewi Tanjung has reported senior National Mandate Party (PAN) politician Amien Rais to the Metro Jaya Police on Tuesday.

“[Amien Rais’] oration during the rally in front of the General Elections Commission (KPU),” she said at the Metro Jaya Police headquarters.

Dewi bases her report on Amien’s call for ‘people power’ movement which she deems a form of treason during a rally at the KPU headquarters on March 31, where the PAN politician declared he prefers that movement than to file an official report on findings of electoral frauds.

“For example, if we can prove the existence of systematic and massive electoral frauds, we will no longer choose to report to the Constitutional Court but take the path of people power,” said Amien.

However, Dewi’s police report was initially rejected after the PDIP legislative candidate mistakenly submitted the wrong date of the report. “We will come here again to revise our police report. I mistakenly wrote the [wrong date],” she said.

In her report, Dewi accuses Amien Rais together with Rizieq Shihab and Bachtiar Nasir, of planning on to entice the people power movement against the Indonesian government.
