TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Civil Service Agency (BKN) spokesman Mohammad Ridwan has announced that this year’s Eid collective leave will start on June 3-7, 2019. This is based on the joint decree (SKB) of Religious Affairs Minister, Manpower Minister, and Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister.
“However, the leave for civil servants (PNS) will await Presidential Decree,” said Ridwan in a written statement on Thursday, May 9. Based on the information from the BKN Chair, he added, employees would go back to work on June 10.
The joint decree also noted two other national holidays prior to 2019 Eid el-Fitr or lebaran; Ascension Day on May 30, and Pancasila Day on June 1.
If the Eid homecoming holiday, national holidays, and weekends were calculated, employees would get nine consecutive days off, from June 1 to 9 on Sunday. Meanwhile, lebaran is estimated to fall on June 5-6.
According to the SKB, Eid el-Fitr day will be decided later based on the regulation issued from the Religious Affairs Minister, pending on the isbat or confirmation meeting in the ministry in early June.
