TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) searched the home of the Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita on Tuesday, April 30. The search conducted as part of the investigation of a bribery allegation against DPR member Bowo Sidik Pangarso.

"Investigators searched several places a few days ago to trace relevant evidence and information," KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said on Thursday, May 2.

The search at Minister Enggar's home, a NasDem Party politician, was carried out a day after the anti-graft body searched his office at the Trade Ministry, from which the authorities confiscated documents and electronic evidence related to the Ministerial Regulation on refined sugar.

Febri said that the search at Enggar's house was an attempt to verify Bowo's testimony, "specifically regarding where the bribe money originated from."

The anti-graft agency named Bowo as a bribery suspect in the fertilizer transportation cooperation between PT Humpuss Transportasi Kimia and PT Pupuk Indonesia. Bowo allegedly received Rp1.2 billion from a marketing officer of PT Humpuss, Asty Winasti. In addition, Bowo is also suspected of receiving gratuities totaling at Rp8 billion.

To investigators, Bowo said that one of the sources of gratification was Enggar. The money, Bowo claimed, was given to "secure" the refined sugar minister regulation, which was signed in mid-2017.

Febri said KPK officers took nothing from Minister Enggar's home, as they did not find anything relevant to Bowo Sidik's case.
