TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) has approved the city government's proposal for the MRT tariff scheme. The DPRD speaker, Prasetio Edi Marsudi, said the suggested average tariff of Rp8,500, which was passed during Monday's meeting, is the same as what the regional government calculated.

"It's basically the same," Prasetio said here on Tuesday, March 26.

Today, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan visited Prasetio at his office to discuss the MRT tariff. Yesterday, the Jakarta DPRD agreed to set the MRT tariff at Rp8,500 per 10 kilometer, while the LRT has a flat rate of Rp5,000.

The MRT tariff will also be adjusted to the distance between each stop. The first station entry will cost Rp3,000, and the final tariff will depend on the destination.
