TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Metro TV editorial director Don Bosco Salamun said that there is nothing to worry about the objectivity of his station in organizing the fourth debate of 2019 presidential election which is slated to be held on Saturday, March 30.
Don Bosco made the statement in response to the objection issued by the Prabowo - Sandiaga campaign team against the appointment of Metro TV as the upcoming election debate organizer.
On Friday, March 22, the Prabowo - Sandiaga campaign team (BPN) lodged a report to the KPU against national television station Metro TV for allegedly providing biased news coverage related to the 2019 presidential election.

Hence, Don Bosco called on the campaign team not to worry about his media coverage because debate contents and procedures have been designed by the General Election Commission (KPU) that had previously agreed both by the Prabowo - Sandiaga and the Jokowi - Ma'ruf campaign team (TKN).
“KPU has set the contents, including panelist questions, duration, and debate procedure. That based on the agreement between BPN and TKN. So there is no subjectivity of media organizer during the debate,” Don Bosco told Tempo on Sunday, March 24.
Besides, he added, the appointment of Metro TV as a debate organizer had been long set before the first debate started. Based on the initial draw, Metro TV and EMTEK Group (SCTV and Indosiar) chosen for the fourth event.
Metro TV, Don Bosco continued, has coordinated with EMTEK Group regarding divisions of tasks for the upcoming debate of 2019 presidential election.
