Fares in 13 Toll Roads Will Increase

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Toll road users must prepare to spend more money on fares this year. Bisnis.com reported on Sunday that at least 13 toll roads will make tariff adjustments this year.
The last time said toll roads raised their tariffs was in late 2017. That year, the fare adjustments will likely take effect in quarter four.
Toll Road Business Entities (BUJT) have the right to submit tariff adjustments every two years.
PT Nusantara Infrastructure Tbk., the holding company of three BUJTs, said they would adjust rates this year. Deden Rochmawaty, Nusantara Infrastructure's general manager for corporate affairs, said the company was seeking to raise the toll tariffs in three toll lanes: Pondok Aren-Serpong, Ujung Pandang Sections 1 and 2, as well as Makassar Section IV.

Generally speaking, BUJTs can propose a tariff hike if they meet the Minimum Service Standards measured using 26 parameters. The 26 parameters are divided into six aspects: toll road conditions, average travel speed, accessibility, mobility, safety, and first aid.
In addition to inflation, toll road tariffs also take into account users' ability to pay, the amount of profits from vehicle operating costs, and investment feasibility.
