TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The 88 Anti-terror Special Detachment (Densus 88) arrested a man under suspicion that he is linked with a terrorists group. Rinto, a.k.a. Putra Syuhad, was apprehended in Lampung on Saturday, March 9.

Rinto was arrested after his parents filed a report to the Kedaton Sector Police, Lampung.

"His father suspected him of being a radical. He requested that his son be secured to prevent him from doing acts of terror," police spokesman Brig. Gen. Dedi Prasetyo said on Sunday.

The Densus 88 team suspected that Rinto is a member of the Abu Hamzah terrorist group, one of the small terrorist groups affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

After preliminary investigation, it was discovered that Rinto was planning to bomb the police headquarters in Lampung and Jakarta. The police found a number of items suspected to be bomb-making materials.

"He kept the items in the attic of a neighbor's house," Dedi said.

Rinto is now detained at the Kedaton Police Station for further investigation.
