TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Youth and Sports Ministry appreciates the achievement of Indonesian national under-22 football team (Timnas U-22) as the champion of the Asian Football Federation or AFF U-22 cup. The winning eases the political tense ahead of the 2019 election in April.
By the time the team arrives in Indonesia, Youth and Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi said, the young Garuda squad will be paraded and awarded with Rp2.1 billion bonus.

“We prepare a parade and winning bonus. The total bonus is Rp2.1 billion,” said Imam Nahrawi, after watching the final match directly at National Stadium, Phnom Penh, Cambodia Tuesday night.
According to Imam, the plan on bonus deliver has not yet announced to the players and staffer of the U-22 team. However, he assured that all will be prepared as a gratitude symbol for the work of Indra Sjafri’s team in Cambodia.
“We will greatly welcome football heroes in the country with, of course, full of excitement and enthusiasm on behalf of Merah Putih,” Imam remarked.
Timnas U-22 succeeds to win the trophy of AFF U-22 Cup after defeating defending champion Thailand with a 2-1 victory. The team will return to the country today, February 27.
