TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) handed over three assets from graft cases to the Attorney General's Office (AGO) and the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) today, February 20. The total assets valued up to Rp110 billion.

“We have handed over two assets in Denpasar, Bali and Medan, North Sumatra to Attorney General's Office, and an asset in Pancoran, South Jakarta to BNN,” said KPK chairman Agus Rahardjo in his office, South Jakarta, Wednesday, Feb. 20.

The asset in Denpasar, Bali, is in the form of a villa building owned by graft convict Fuad Amin, former regent of Bangkalan, while the asset in Medan, North Sumatra is a land plot owned by a graft convict Sutan Batugana, former speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission VII who caught in a corruption case of 2013 State Budget in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).

The asset in Pancoran, South Jakarta, is in a land plot of some 9,944 meters owned by a graft convict Muhammad Nazaruddin, former treasurer of Democrat Party.

Agus said the assets were handed to Attorney General’s Office and BNN based on the Finance Ministerial Regulation (PMK) No. 0806 of 2018 dated January 22.

He pinned hope the asset handover, which was KPK’s efforts for transparency and accountable management of seized goods, could strengthen the synergy between KPK and Attorney General’s Office and BNN.

“Hopefully, those additional assets can optimize the work of all in respective institutions,” Agus added.

The KPK chairman also wished the corruption handling in the future would not merely sentence the perpetrator, but also return the state loss despite below 100 percent.
