Satpol PP Ask Food Court Owners in Reclaimed Island to Get Permit

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The head of Jakarta Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), Yani Wahyu Purwoko, said that his side will not instantly shut down an illegal food court located in the reclaimed island. The food stall opened in D islet or currently named Pantai Maju did not obtain a building permit of the food court.
“No, (we will not close it). We will appeal (operators of the food court) to manage its permit,” said Yani in the City Hall, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, February 12.
Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan earlier assured that the food court in Pantai Maju had been operated sans permit. So Anies opined that it should have been handled.
The food court is reportedly in operation since December 2018. When Tempo visited the area on January 24, several food stalls were flocked by the people.
As an initial warning notice, Yani added, Satpol PP will urge owners of the food court in the reclaimed island to complete the permit document in the Jakarta's one-stop integrated service agency (PTSP).
