2018 Economic Growth 5.17%; Darmin Seeks to Boost Exports

TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution said the government will work hard to achieve this year's economic growth target. The growth target is set at 5.5 percent this year, above 2018's achievement of 5.17 percent.
"The world's economy is not functioning very well, especially our exports," Darmin said here on Wednesday, February 6.

He said the ministry has met with logistics business actors to prepare new export policies. According to Darmin, the government will focus on the procedures of exports and logistics before fixing the industry sector.
Meanwhile, the Central Statistics Agency said that Indonesia's economic growth in 2018 was the best since 2014.
In 2014, Indonesia's economy grew 5.01 percent, below 2013's 5.56 percent.
