PSSI Acting Chairman Joko Driyono Summoned by Police

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Police's anti-football mafia task force plans to question the acting chairman of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) Joko Driyono on Thursday, January 24.

“He confirmed that he will be present. We’ll expect him on Thursday,” said the task force’s Chief, Grand Comm. Argo Yuwono in a text message Tempo received on Tuesday, January 22.

Argo said that Joko’s questioning session will start at 14:00 Western Indonesia Time (WIB). The anti-football mafia task force will also question Irzan Pulungan, PSSI Deputy Treasurer prior to Joko’s at 11:00 WIB.

Both Joko and Irzan will be questioned mainly as witnesses in the case that saw Persibara Banjarnegara former manager Lasmi Indrayani report an alleged mafia practice and match-fixing the outcome of the Liga Tiga Indonesia.

In response, Joko confirmed that he will fulfill the police summoning during the PSSI Congress at Nusa Dua, Bali on January 20.

The anti-football mafia task force had already named 11 people as suspects. 10 of those incriminated in were PSSI higher-ups that were involved in a match-fixing practice when Persibara fought against Persikabpas Pasuruan. One other suspect is incriminated in the PSMP Mojokerto – Aceh United football match.
